I have been a Consultant Gastroenterologist at St.George's University Hospitals NHS Trust since 2014 treating patients with a wide variety of gastro-intestinal conditions including dyspepsia, inflammatory bowel disease, GI cancers and functional gut disorders such as IBS. I am part of the nutrition team and care for inpatients with complex nutritional problems referrred from the surrounding region. I regularly perform both diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopies at both St George's and Queen Mary's Hospital Roehampton. I have a clinical and research interest in upper GI conditions such as gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), Barrett's oesophagus, and oesophageal motility disorders. I run the GI Physiology lab at St George's investigating patients with indigestion and swallowing disorders. My research into the diagnosis and complications of reflux disease has been presented internationally and received awards from British, European and American Gastroenterology Societies.
Luminal gastroenterology including reflux disease, dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease,and coeliac disease. Procedures including endoscopy, colonoscopy, polypectoomy, high resolution oesophageal manometry, ambulatory pH-impedance monitoring.
To date I have performed well over 1000 gastroscopies and approximately 1000 colonoscopies. Over 500 oesophageal manometry and ambulatory pH/pH-impedance studies.
