Who we are
Spire Manchester Hospital is part of Spire Healthcare, one of the largest private hospital groups in the UK. Spire Healthcare treat more than one million patients a year at their network of 39 hospitals and many clinics across the UK.
At Spire Manchester Hospital we work closely with medical referrers or sponsors including country embassies, country health offices and military offices, sports teams, private corporate companies, companies specialising in repatriation to the UK and consultancy companies handling international medical care.

At Spire Manchester Hospital we will assist you every step of the way. Your first consultation as an outpatient can be arranged at a time and date to suit you and can be booked once you are in the UK.
Our team works hard to make the process as smooth as possible for you and we can usually help you with:
- transport advice
- advice on accommodation for visitors and relatives
- local knowledge to help you, your visitors and relatives organise your trip
- interpretation services (please note this will incur an additional cost)
Supporting your care with first-class facilities
At Spire Manchester Hospital we have a full multi-disciplinary medical team on-site, using some of the latest technology and practicing some of the most advanced treatments. This means we can offer everything from screening and rehabilitation through to leading-edge surgical procedures and excellence in specialist fields like orthopaedics, cardiology and cancer care - all delivered through our expert and caring clinical teams.
Your treatment will be tailored around you, with your choice of consultant. You'll be given your own private room with all the comforts and conveniences you'd expect to find in your own home while you recover - complete with TV and wifi.
We have flexible visiting hours, so friends and family can visit you almost any time between 10am and 8pm.

Our hospital
Spire Manchester Hospital opened in Whalley Range 1981. In January 2017, we opened our brand new purpose-build hospital in Didsbury. Spire Healthcare has invested more than £60million into this flagship hospital for the group. We now offer an enhanced range of services and facilities including specialist treatment for complex orthopaedic and spinal surgery.
We are situated just 5 miles from Manchester city centre and Manchester International Airport.
Our experts
We have a team of over 300 consultants, some with international reputations for expertise in their specialty. They all understand the needs of patients who may have travelled long distances.
All of our consultants are members of the General Medical Council, with years of experience in their fields. While working in partnership with our staff to deliver excellent standards of medical care, consultants are independent practitioners and are not employed by the hospital.
