Our one-stop triple assessment clinic is designed to help you through the process of breast examination, investigations and results - all on the same day. For peace of mind our clinics are available Monday to Friday ensuring you are seen within 24 hours of your enquiry.

Our multi-disciplinary team of breast surgeons, radiologists, oncologists, histopathologists and specialist nurses work together to provide your initial consultation, examination and results within 24 hours or the same day. This ensures that your concerns are dealt with rapidly without having to endure an anxious and prolonged wait for results.

Your appointment will be with an experienced consultant breast surgeon and a specialist breast nurse.

At the initial assessment, your consultant will discuss your concerns and take a full medical history.

Before any diagnostic tests are completed, your consultant will carry out a breast examination to decide which investigations would suit your individual needs. The team aim to carry out all the investigations at your first appointment using state-of-the-art equipment that can help detect breast abnormalities.

^If you are booking for a triple assessment appointment using your health insurance, you will be booking for the diagnostic tests and you may be asked to return for a follow up consultation with a consultant surgeon.

Bupa accredited specialist breast centre

As a Bupa accredited centre, Spire Bushey Hospital offers Bupa members rapid access (within two working days) to specialist consultation and a triple assessment (offering mammogram, ultrasound and core biopsy). For many patients this provides same day peace of mind reassurance. For those who undergo a biopsy they can expect to receive their initial results within two working days of the triple assessment clinic. Any Bupa customers needing further treatment are offered a treatment start date within 31 days of their initial contact with Spire Healthcare.

Funding your own treatment

Our self–funding price packages are tailored to your needs and may depend on the diagnostic tests recommended by your consultant so we are unable to advise a fixed price for the triple assessment breast clinic.

Using private health insurance

One-stop breast clinic next steps

A number of your diagnostic test results will be available immediately and your consultant will talk through test findings with you and advise you on the next steps.

If tests confirm a diagnosis of breast cancer your consultant will discuss treatment options with our multi-disciplinary team of breast care specialists. If required, you may also be referred for further opinion and care to a consultant oncologist. Subsequent treatment may include one or a combination programme of surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and/or hormone therapy. Appointments for onward referrals, diagnostics or treatment will be discussed before you leave the clinic.

If you need radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer, you will receive this at Elstree Cancer Centre, just a few minutes’ drive from the hospital. Elstree Cancer Centre, run in partnership by GenesisCare and Spire Bushey Hospital, is a state-of-the-art, integrated radiotherapy and chemotherapy centre combining a range of cancer technologies and treatments to offer patients fast access to the best possible care and the latest innovative treatments.
