Dr Haris Rathur has been a Consultant Endocrinologist, Diabetologist and Acute Physician at Tameside Hospital NHS Foundation Trust since May 2010.
Haris underwent his initial postgraduate training in Manchester and obtained MRCP (UK) in 2002. He pursued his career in field of diabetic neuropathy as a clinical research fellow at the University of Manchester, Manchester Medical School where he completed his MD thesis titled "Studies in the Pathogenesis and management of diabetic neuropathy and foot ulceration”. His endocrine, diabetes and general medicine training commenced when he took up a registrar post as part of the North West rotation.
Haris has a keen interest in type 2 diabetes, obesity and bariatric medicine, Vitamin D deficiency, thyroid and parathyroid disease.
Haris has interest in, and is actively involved in both post and undergraduate medical education. Haris is an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Manchester as well as an undergraduate tutor at Tameside Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
