Chris qualified from Newcastle University in 1997 and initially specialised in Medicine for Older People and General Internal Medicine. He developed a specialist interest in Neurology due to increasing work in Parkinson’s disease clinics and ultimately switched to formal neurology training in 2005. He completed his higher specialist training in Neurology in 2010 and now works as a Consultant Neurologist in Greater Manchester with particular subspecialist interests in Acute and Emergency Neurological Disease and Neurological Sleep Disorders. Chris regularly teaches and examines for Manchester Medical School and also teaches junior doctors of all levels specialties. He lectures widely on Neurological Sleep Disorders at local and National Conferences.
Chris lives with his wife and 3 daughters in the Cheshire countryside. He has lived in the Greater Manchester area for nearly 20 years and has just made his first forays into starting a smallholding to run alongside his medical practice, aiming to grow a wide variety of fruit and vegetables and to keep livestock. Chris is a keen runner, time and daughters permitting (!), and also enjoys fell-walking and bird-watching.
