Spire treats SRU player, Ross Ford

Scotland hooker, Ross Ford has been ruled out of the south Africa tour following an injury during training. Ross Ford was scanned at Spire Murrayfield Hospital where is Consultant Ragiologist identified a calf tear, recovery for which usually takes around 6 weeks.

Scotland head coach Scott Johnson said: “Ross Ford pulled up in training in Aviemore on Wednesday.

It’s unfortunate for Ross but, looking on the bright side, it will give him the chance to have an off-season, which can do him good. It also gives an opportunity to assess other players, which is one of the key things this tour is about."

Scott Lawson, the 36-times-capped hooker, will take his place on the tour which leaves today for their international tournament.

We wish Ross Ford a speedy recovery and the Scotland team all the best in South Africa.
