The Scottish Golf Union today unveiled Spire Edinburgh Hospitals as their official healthcare partner and title sponsor of the Scottish Seniors Championship.
As part of the new sponsorship deal, the hospital will also become an official partner of the Scottish Golf Membership Card, providing a range of preferential private healthcare benefits to members of SGU and SLGA affiliated golf clubs in Scotland.
The partnership was teed off at the Spire Murrayfield Hospital earlier this week, when members of the Scotland senior golf team joined forces with our medical team, ahead of next week’s Scottish Seniors Championship at Deeside in Aberdeen (17–19 June).
A ‘major’ on the GB&I seniors’ circuit, the event has attracted a top field of 144 senior golfers from all over the world, with past champions including Walker Cup greats Ian Hutcheon and the late Charlie Green, while last year’s Barry Brooks from Meldrum House will be close to home to defend his title. Scotland’s senior golfers will be among the 218,000 club members who are able to benefit from a series of special offers when they register their Scottish Golf Membership Card.
Andrew Eadsforth, Hospital Director of Spire Edinburgh Hospitals, said: “We are delighted to be investing in amateur golf in Scotland and proud to be supporting one of the most prestigious titles in Scottish golf through our sponsorship.
“Spire has been official healthcare partner to Scottish Rugby for a number of years and it’s great to be extending our reach into the golf market. As leaders in our field, we can offer club members the very best quality patient care, adding great value to being a member of a golf club.”
Ross Duncan, Marketing and Sponsorship Manager for the Scottish Golf Union, added: “Spire Edinburgh Hospitals are a fantastic addition to the partners who provide member benefits through our card, joining the likes of SSE Scottish Hydro and TaylorMade-adidasGolf.
“It’s very exciting to recruit a new sponsor of Spire’s calibre for the Scottish Seniors Championship and our recent amalgamation with the SLGA has certainly given us some momentum in being a more attractive proposition for brands and generating further investment in the grass roots game.”
