My undergraduate training was at Oxford and St Mary's. I graduated in 1981. Initial General Surgical training included the Oxford Registrar rotation from 1985 to 1988. I then trained in Plastic Surgery, at Billericay, Bristol and Mount Vernon.

I have undertaken private practice since 1994, when I was appointed as a consultant at Mount Vernon, with a special interest in Breast and Burns surgery. I also undertakes complex chest wall reconstruction at Harefield Hospital.

Mount Vernon relocated to the Royal Free Hospital in 2006, and major burns were no longer admitted. Scar revision, skin cancer and abdominal surgery became an increasing part of my NHS practice.

My private practice spans the wide range of Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery, with a significant proportion of breast augmentation, uplift, reduction and correction of asymmetry, as well as abdominoplasty, skin lesions and scar revision. Eyelid and nose surgery are regularly performed, but facelift, browlift and laser surgery are not offered.

Medico-legal practice includes personal injury claims, and Child Protection proceedings, especially related to burns.

Approximately half of the burns patients I have treated have been children. Some of these children have been the victims of harm. This led me to become the Named Doctor for Child Protection at Mount Vernon Hospital, and to be seconded as a member of the Hillingdon Area Child Protection Committee.

I am married with teenage children, and live in North London. My enthusiasm for skiing and cycling is considerably greater than my ability. I am also a model engineer, devoted to 5inch gauge live steam, and a gardener whose favourite plants are undoubtedly native trees.
