Mr Parmar qualified at London University and received his orthopaedic training as a registrar and lecturer in Leicester. Following this training, he was appointed senior registrar at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, in Stanmore. Mr Parmar was a senior lecturer and honorary consultant at Stanmore, before moving to East Hertfordshire.

In addition to a general orthopaedic service, Mr Parmar has a particular interest in hip arthroscopy and resurfacing. This is in keeping with his overall interest in the management of sports injury and early degenerative joint disease in athletes.

In addition to the usual orthopaedic attachments to rugby, cricket and fast cars, I have, for several years, played in bands. Three young daughters have temporarily put a stop to that. I also have a passing interest in wine, real ale and golf, using the latter term rather loosely!
