Background Information 
Professional profile:
Dr Bhalara qualified from University College, London in 1991. He trained in general medicine and rheumatology at St Bartholomew's, Charing Cross and the Hammersmith hospitals and the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, London.

He has completed a doctoral thesis on issues concerned with the assessment of early inflammatory arthritis and biological therapy following research undertaken at the Kennedy Institute. He has published on these and related topics and was involved with early clinical trials on the use of novel biological agents in rheumatoid arthritis.

During his earlier training he completed a Master's degree in immunology and retains an interest in the immunology of rheumatic disease.

His current clinical practice is broad and involves the entire spectrum of rheumatological disease but he is particularly interested in inflammatory arthritis, soft tissue disease and osteoporosis.
Personal profile:
Dr Bhalara is married with two young children. His interests include travelling, horseriding, skiing, badminton and reading.
