    Ashley is a Consultant Paediatrician at Watford General Hospital. He has a special responsibility for the Children's Emergency Department and advocates an ambulatory philosophy aiming to treat children at home and out of hospital where practical. He is a General Paediatrician and has experience in common conditions seen in children. He practices medicine with a holistic approach and believes that children should be involved in their care as much as possible. He is happy to see a wide variety of common problems in babies, children and adolescents.

    Ashley qualified in Leeds in 1995, and started working with children immediately. Trained in and around Yorkshire, he moved to London for Registrar training in 2000. He completed an MSc in Clinical Paediatrics in 2003 and was appointed as Clinical Lecturer at University College London where he holds a Senior Lecturer post. He has an interest in Medical Education, is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a member of the Academy of Medical Educators and has received Distinguished Teacher awards. He researches aspects of clinical paediatrics and education and has recently published an evidence-based article which received world-wide media attention and recently has also published original research in Medical Education journal.
