    Mr Baker is a senior General and Vascular Consultant in North Bristol NHS Trust where he has held a consultant post for over 22 years.

    He has a wide experience of emergency and elective surgery.

    He is very experienced in surgery, injection therapy for varicose veins and in particular recurrent varicose veins. He was part of the Medical Research Council trial of laparoscopic (keyhole) hernia repair and has an extensive experience in laparoscopic surgery for hernias and gallstones

    Mr Baker and the consultant anaesthetist with whom he works closely, have long term interest in the maintenance of patient safety in hospital and in particular, in the operating theatre.
