Dr Anurag Bharadwaj is a consultant rheumatologist offering private rheumatology care in our clean and comfortable private hospital.
Dr Anurag Bharadwaj’s work as a consultant rheumatologist involves out-patient care for general rheumatological problems, early inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue disorders and vasculitis. In his clinic he is able to offer musculo-skeletal ultrasound during the consultation, to assist diagnosis of rheumatological disease.
Until he moved to the UK in 2003, Dr Bharadwaj was Associate Professor of Medicine and Head of the Unit of Rheumatology at a university hospital in India. He undertook further training in rheumtalogy in the UK within the Eastern Deanery. He completed his postgraduate training in internal medicine (1994) and clinical immunology-rheumatology (1998) in India.
Dr Bharadwaj set up a unit of rheumatology and immunology at Pokhara (Nepal) and Manipal (India). He was involved in undergraduate medical students teaching from 1991 onwards including teaching for one year at Melaka Manipal Medical College in Malaysia. He was also an undergraduate examiner for medicine and a designated examiner for rheumatology.
As part of his immunology-rheumatology training he learned major immunological laboratory techniques and rheumatological procedures. Dr Bharadwaj's previous experience in internal medicine has given him confidence in managing emergency care, in-patient and out patient care for acute medical patients.
I was an active member of the Indian Montrek Association, regularly taking part in high mountain trekking. I also have interest in wildlife, photography and music.
My wife, Kavita Bharadwaj, is a professional singer in Indian light and classical music and is presently devoting her time to bringing up our son and daughter.
