Gallbladder removal: what to expect at Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital

First you’ll need to attend an initial consultation. Your consultant will talk you through the benefits and risks, and explain whether you’ll require keyhole or open surgery. Keyhole surgery can be carried out through small incisions and you can often leave the same day. Open surgery requires a bit more work and a few days stay in hospital afterwards.
