Mr Magee is a specialist laparoscopic (keyhole) general surgeon with a particular interest in obesity surgery. He is a Liverpool graduate and was trained by some of the United Kingdom’s leading surgeons.
Following his general surgery training he completed a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery at the Gravitas bariatric unit. Mr Magee has a prominent research profile with over 100 first author publications. He regularly presents his work at national and international conferences.
Mr Magee was the winner of the inaugural British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society scientific prize in 2010 for his work on body image perception and bariatric surgery. In addition he was a co-winner of the Association for the Study of Obesity best practice award in 2009 and the Welsh Surgical Society scientific meeting prize in 2010. He recently won the poster prize at the World congress of obesity surgery in Hamburg in 2011.
Conor spends his time at home being told what to do by his three children and walking his chocolate brown labrador Harvey.
He keeps hoping for a Liverpool premiership title and tries to convince the world that Windows is a poor substitute for the Macintosh platform.
