Mr Gurpreet Saab Bhermi

Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon

MB ChB, FRCOphth

Specialises in

I graduated from the University of Dundee in 1990 and started my career in Ophthalmology in 1992. My core ophthalmic training was completed at various South Thames hospitals, research into Cataract Surgery at St Thomas' Hospital, and sub-specialty Fellowships in Glaucoma and Cataract Surgery at London teaching hospitals. I have been a substantive consultant since 2006 and currently work in both the Cataract and Glaucoma service at the world renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital.

As well as managing general ophthalmic patients, I offer expert medical, laser and surgical management options for all forms of Glaucoma as part of a tertiary referral service. I also offer modern bespoke Refractive Cataract Surgery service, with standard and premium lens options, including toric and multifocal implants to meet the specific requirements of each individual patient.

To date, I have carried out over 10,000 cataract operations, achieving very satisfactory outcomes and high patient satisfaction scores for virtually all of my patients.

I welcome appropriate patients wishing to refer and pay for treatment themselves without the need for a GPs letter of referral.

I am available for appointments at the Spire Wellesley Hospital on Wednesday evenings and Friday afternoons.

I am married to a GP and enjoy spending my precious spare time with my wife, son and daughter. Having learnt to ski in Scotland as a student, I have remained a keen skier. However, I now have to work just that little bit harder to keep up with my children.
