Laura Dawson is a specialist speech and language therapist offering private, tailored speech and language therapy and assessment to meet the needs of her clients.
Laura received her training at University College London, a university for speech sciences; for which she was awarded the final year clinical prize. Laura has advanced through her specialisms and currently works closely with referring consultants at the Spire Wellesley Hospital and within the NHS. She is a published author of auditory Bombardment Stories for children and is a highly motivated, skilled and dynamic therapist.
Within the NHS, Laura specialises in head and neck cancer and ENT working with patients for voice, swallowing and communication disorders. She is experienced in the treatment of speech, language and swallowing disorder as a result of general medical and neurological (stroke/progressive) conditions. Laura has recently left the NHS to work as an advisor to clinicians nationwide on surgical voice restoration in head and neck cancer. She still maintains he clinical practice in the NHS by working as an Honorary Speech Language Therapist within the Head and Neck team at St. George's Hospital in London.
As an additional interest, Laura also specialises in the treatment of children's speech sound disorders/delays. She offers an energetic and engaging therapy service for children and encourages parent training in therapy to make quick gains outside of the therapy session.
