Nursing in Spire

Nurses and ODP’s play an important role in maintaining these standards and ensuring patient satisfaction by providing the essential clinical care and judgement to patients to enable them to recover from their surgery, procedure or inpatient stay.
The wide range of clinical specialities provided by Spire hospitals means that you will be exposed to a variety of nursing and ODP in theatre, such as: orthopaedics; paediatrics; oncology; bariatrics; and cardiac. Your role will be to care for patients compassionately and efficiently.
A key part of working at Spire is team working. As a Nurse/ODP you will interact with a wide range of clinical colleagues in the multi-disciplinary team. You will work closely with colleagues in housekeeping, food service and administration to ensure service to patients is synchronised and appropriate. Instrumental to providing an efficient and effective service to the patients, is being able to prioritise and manage yourself, your patients and other team members.

You will be offered accredited modules in research, specialist clinical skills, service development, work based learning, reflective practice and management development
We link into Anglia Ruskin and Essex Universities by having student nurses of all levels, on placement and buy courses from them. We can buy short and long courses directly from wherever we choose.
Your career prospects
You can consider studying for further specialist qualifications in Nursing e.g. gynaecology, orthopaedic, cosmetic and breast care or in other education skills, such as NVQ assessment or teaching and assessing of students and colleagues. As ODP’s you can also train to scrub and for ALS.
We are keen to promote from within the Spire network so studying for management qualifications can help you progress within the company. We offer an excellent in-house management development programmes. What we are looking for
You will be a Registered Nurse or ODP with experience of working in teams but an autonomous practitioner. You will be passionate about patient care, high clinical standards and looking for ways to improve the way we run our business. Your collaborative and positive approach to team working will mean you fit in well with our culture. We really value people who are organised and efficient, and who combine this with a genuine empathy for vulnerable and sick patients. We need you to be willing to be flexible in your working patterns and processes.
