Mr Ali-Khan obtained his medical degree in 1995 from Birmingham University; and has worked in the field of plastic surgery since 1998; mostly in the South-West, London and East of England, before obtaining his Consultant position in Durham.
He obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Plastic Surgery) in 2009 and is on the GMC specialist register for all aspects of plastic surgery. In addition he has undertaken further specialist fellowship training in:
• Skin Cancer (at the Melanoma Institute of Australia, Sydney, Australia).
• Microsurgical Reconstructive Surgery (at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, UK).
• Aesthetic / Cosmetic Surgery (in Bristol and London, UK).
Mr Ali-Khan has published and lectured on various aspects of Plastic Surgery and is developing contacts at the University of Durham in order to further his research interests. He is involved in the teaching of medical students and junior doctors at his NHS practice at University Hospital of Durham & Darlington Memorial Hospital.
Mr Ali-Khan welcomes consultation requests in all aspects of plastic, reconstructive & aesthetic (cosmetic) surgery. He works as part of a husband & wife team; Mrs Lisa Ali-Khan is a nurse and aesthetic practitioner with many years’ experience & expertise in non-surgical cosmetic treatments.
Together they provide a comprehensive plastic surgery and non-surgical aesthetic service, with safety, honesty and an individually tailored approach at the heart of their practice ethos.
