Your first call or email regarding cosmetic surgery will be handled by one of our friendly customer sales advisers who will answer any initial questions or concerns you may have and book you in for either a free 10 minute appointment or full consultation depending on your decision. You can of course take the opportunity to ask to receive our information pack, read it and then make contact again to make a consultation.
You’ll find that most cosmetic surgeons will be happy to see you for an initial consultation without a referral letter from your GP. But if you plan to go ahead with a cosmetic operation, the surgeon should seek your permission to contact your GP for details of your medical history.
Free 10 minute appointment
With a free 10 minute appointment you are able to have 10 minutes with one of our specialist cosmetic surgeons here at Spire Washington to ask any questions you may have about cosmetic surgery. If you are considering cosmetic surgery, wondering how much it costs and whether you would be suitable for surgery a free 10 minute appointment is an excellent opportunity to have your questions answered by an expert in their field.
An initial consultation with a specialist cosmetic surgeon will help you set realistic expectations of what your chosen procedure can achieve for you. The consultation will also help the surgeon make a professional assessment of your motivation for wanting cosmetic surgery, and whether they can offer treatment that will meet your expectations.
You should expect to be asked a number of questions about your reasons for wanting cosmetic surgery and the surgeon should show you ‘before and after’ photographs of similar operations they have performed.
You may find it helpful to bring a friend, partner or relative with you to the consultation, as there will be a lot of information to absorb and consider.
If you decide to go ahead, it’s best to allow at least two weeks between consultation and operation date – so that you have plenty of time to reflect and make sure that you are entirely comfortable with your decision.
All theatre procedures are carried out here at Spire Washington Hospital. On the day of your operation you will need to arrive at the hospital one hour before your procedure time. After your procedure you’ll be able to recuperate in your own private room with friends and family able to visit when you wish. You will need someone to collect you to take you home as you will be unable to drive immediately after your operation. Prior to any surgery you will receive a comprehensive admissions pack containing all the information you need regarding you stay.
Your follow-up appointments will be carried out at Spire Washington Hospital. Recovery periods are different depending on the type of procedure that is carried out. Consult your surgeon before about how you should expect to feel and to what extent you will need to ‘take it easy’, as you may need to make additional childcare arrangements or organise other help at home.
