Dr Khalid Barakat did his initial training in Oxford and London and qualified as a doctor in 1991. After further specialist study, he was appointed as an NHS Consultant Cardiologist for Ascot, Slough and the surrounding areas in 2003. In 2005, Dr Barakat co-founded Windsor Cardiology LLP with Dr Stephen Rex. The company was established to provide a local private interventional cardiology service to the community of Windsor and the surrounding areas of Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. The philosophy of Windsor Cardiology is to ensure the highest possible standard of local patient care in the assessment and treatment of the full range of cardiac conditions, as well as advising on strategies for cardiac disease prevention.
Investigations and treatments are arranged for a range of symptoms which might be indicative of an underlying heart condition, such as chest pain; palpitations; dizziness and fainting; heart murmurs and heart valve problems; high blood pressure,(hypertension); breathlessness and heart failure.
Windsor Cardiology, offers a completely local “one stop” service to patients, A full range of tests are conducted at the initial appointment and in the vast majority of cases, Dr Barakat is able to give a full cardiac assessment on the first consultation, from diagnosis through to a final treatment plan. If more complex tests or treatments are required these are also arranged locally.
Windsor Cardiology is a recognised provider for cardiology assessment and treatment by all of the major medical insurance companies and Dr Barakat is a member of the Bupa Consultant Partnership scheme.
