I qualified from India and completed post-graduate Higher Specialist training in General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics from LNR Workforce Deanery England.

I was appointed as a Consultant Physician at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL) in 2011. I am proficient in unselected medical conditions, Internal Medicine, undifferentiated medical illness, and Ortho-geriatrics.

I have a keen interest in undifferentiated medical diagnosis, perioperative care, particularly for orthopaedic procedures, medical optimisation for surgery, rapidly worsening medical disorders, geriatric medical syndromes, and comprehensive medical evaluations.

Currently, I am head of the service of the newly established Internal Medicine department of UHL, one of the unique and largest bed base departments. I am the postgraduate Training Programme Director of NHS England Workforce Training and Education of East Midlands overseeing Internal Medicine Stage 2 training of about 300 higher specialist trainees. I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer of Medical Education at Leicester Medical School.

An inquisitive Internist, I am passionate medical educator. I am an ardent campaigner for nurturing compassionate and caring medical teams. In my leisure I enjoy watching cricket and exploring world cuisine.

For more than a decade I have been active as a consultant in providing care for patients with hip and femur fractures for medical optimisation for surgery and post-operative care.

I am fully trained in General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics.
