A Graduate of both Cambridge and Oxford, Mr Martin Porter trained at Bart's, The Royal Marsden and Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospitals, before becoming senior registrar in Bristol. He was a lecturer in head and neck surgery in Auckland, New Zealand.
Mr Porter's special interest is rhinology (this includes rhinoplasty and sinus surgery) and endoscopic surgery of the throat. He works in muti-disciplinary clinics for paediatrics with audiologists and with chest physicians for allergies and snoring.Mr Porter is the lead surgeon for paediatric services (children) within the county and the only consultant qualified to teach paediatric resuscitation. As well as dedicated paediatric outpatient clinics, he runs dedicated paediatric operating lists and is the only consultant accredited to cover over night admissions, for example tonsillectomy.
Mr Porter is married with three children and his wife is a teacher. He lives in the country and keeps bees. He is keen to teach ENT to his juniors and other NHS staff.
His interests include skiing and country sports.
