Dr Vijay Sawlani is a Consultant Neuroradiologist based at New Queen Elizabeth, Birmingham University Hospitals.
He is a qualified Neuroradiologist who trained at the National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London.
Dr Sawlani is a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists London. He also has a European Qualification in Neuroradiology (EQNR) from the European Board. Furthermore, he has gained a Masters (MSc) in neurovascular diseases from the University of Paris.
Dr Sawlani has 14 years’ experience in the field of neuroradiology. His specialist interests include:
- Adult and paediatric neuroimaging in spinal diseases
- Brain tumours and epilepsy
- Neurovascular diseases
His expertise includes CT and MRI of the head, orbit, ENT, skull base, spine and spinal trauma.
Dr Sawlani has a great deal of experience on advanced MRI applications including spectroscopy, diffusion, perfusion and functional imaging.
He is an elected member of American, European and British Societies of Neuroradiology. Dr Sawlani is also a Hon. Senior Clinical Tutor to Swansea Medical School and has published twenty-five scientific papers, presented more than forty papers and delivered around twenty-five invited lectures at national and international meetings.
