I was a Consultant at Whipps Cross Hospital for 22 years where I specialised in treating problems of the upper limb. I was responsible for operating on the more difficult fractures of the upper limb. By using the latest methods of internal fixation I was able to reduce the time patients spent in a plaster cast.
As an upper limb surgeon I perform shoulder operations such as rotator cuff repair, shoulder decompression, stabilisation for recurrent dislocation and shoulder replacement.
Around the elbow, I treat both tennis and golfers elbow and problems of the ulnar nerve.
At the wrist I excise ganglions, perform both percutaneous and open scaphoid fracture fixation and treat patients with carpal tunnel syndrome.
In the hand I treat trigger finger, perform De Quervains decompression and fix fractures of the hand. I have a particular interest in Dyputrens disease (Dupuytrens contracture), and am one of the few surgeons in London regularly performing needle release in the Out-Patient clinic known as needle Aponevrotomy, NA, Needle aponeurotomy or percutaneous needle fasciotomy (PNF).
I am on the national faculty for the British Society for surgery of the hand instructional courses, nd the AO hand fracture fixation courses. I am an invited lecturer on the European acumed upper limb fracture fixation course.
