Dr Edward Nash is a Consultant Respiratory Physician at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in the School of Clinical and Experimental Medicine at the University of Birmingham Medical School.
He trained in respiratory medicine in Bristol and spent 12 months as Clinical and Research Fellow in Toronto, Canada. As part of this fellowship he worked as Lung Transplant fellow in the busiest transplant unit in North America.
Currently he cares for inpatients and outpatients with the full range of respiratory conditions and also has specialist interests is cystic fibrosis (CF), bronchiectasis, lung cancer and COPD. He works as one of the three consultant physicians in a large multidisciplinary team and is research lead at the West Midlands Adult CF Centre at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital. He also provides the endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) service at Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust and is clinical lead for bronchoscopy and pleural disease.
