Hospital incorporates ‘calming’ light and sound installations by Brian Eno

The Montefiore Hospital was the first hospital in the world to incorporate the works of Brian Eno in the design of the building.

Brian Eno

The Spire Healthcare group actively encouraged medical staff working in the hospital to contribute to the design of the interior of the building, ensuring that patients could be treated in the best possible environment for their health and wellbeing.

This involvement in the project resulted in the Montefiore Hospital being the first in the world to incorporate into two individual light and sound installations by Brian Eno, into its design.

The "Quiet Room for Montefiore" is a room available for patients, visitors and staff to “think, take stock or simply relax”, while "77 Million Paintings for Montefiore" is a light and music installation in the hospital reception area.
