Professional profile:

Mr Rawes has been a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon at Pinderfields Hospital for seventeen years. He has practiced privately at Methley Park Hospital throughout this period. He has had a broad training in orthopaedic and trauma surgery, but as a senior registrar and consultant he has specifically developed elective interests in lower limb, joint replacement, knee surgery and arthroscopy.

He completed his orthopaedic training with a Hip Fellowship with Professor Wroblewski at Wrightington Hospital and a Knee Fellowship with Mr Richard Parkinson at Arrowe Park Hospital.

The majority of his elective practice is hip replacement, knee replacement and knee arthroscopy. He performs cemented and uncemented hip replacements. He performs cemented knee replacements including: patient specific knees, I-Assist knees, high-flex, gender designs and also patello-femoral and unicompartmental knee replacements.
He also increasingly performs hip and knee revision procedures.

He also has an interest in trauma having completed an AO trauma fellowship in Tampa Florida. He is on the faculty of the AO Basic and Advanced Fracture Fixation courses and also an instructor on Advanced Trauma Life Support courses.
