A message from the Hospital Director May 2013

Dear patients and friends of the hospital.

I’m delighted to have taken over the reins of Spire Little Aston Hospital which has been serving the local community for more than 25 years. I have been here only a month but in that time I have been really impressed with the commitment of the staff here to treat all of our patients with the upmost professional care and respect. By way of introduction I have been working in healthcare for the last 15 years most recently at the Spire Hospital in Washington, Tyne and Wear. Having worked prior to that in other industries, my experience has been that healthcare environments are not always the easiest places to manage with a myriad of patients, consultants and staff. Despite that, in a survey conducted at the end of last year, 96% of Spire Little Aston’s patients rated our quality of service as excellent or very good and the feedback we get from patients on a daily basis shows we are committed to constantly improving customer service and delivering excellent clinical care at every visit.

The other important feature of the hospital is its great facilities. We have a Spire Eye Centre which is a purpose built dedicated eye unit with state of the art equipment;  on site MRI and CT scanners;  facilities for chemotherapy and radiotherapy as well as all the more usual departments such as physiotherapy and pharmacy which you would expect to find within a hospital setting.

As a new Hospital Director it is really useful to get feedback from patients and other users of our services, whatever that feedback may be, so please don’t hesitate to pop by my office when you are next in the hospital.
