Nita Bayliss Grad Dip Phys, MCSP, HPC

Physiotherapy Manager– Shoulder and Limb Specialist

Nita is a highly experienced musculo-skeletal outpatient physiotherapist and having completed extensive postgraduate courses has a keen interest in the assessment and rehabilitation of shoulder injuries.

Nita is also a specialist in lower limb rehabilitation after general orthopaedic injuries and surgery.


Usha Patel MSc, BSc (Hons), MCSP, HPC,

Spinal Specialist 
Usha is a highly skilled manual therapist with over ten years' experience assessing and treating a variety of musculo-skeletal conditions.
She is trained in Cyriax-based assessments and manipulations and is an active member of the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine. Usha is also AACP trained in acupuncture for pain relief.
Her special interests lie in spinal conditions and chronic pain management. Usha has a Masters degree in Pain Management from Leicester University and also has experience of working within a Pain Management service.


Carl Simpson BSc (Hons), MCSP, HPC, MACPIN

Neurology and Rehabilitation

Carl has over ten years' experience in neurological rehabilitation, and uses an eclectic approach to treatment. Carl also has an interest in general musculo-skeletal outpatient treatment including sacroiliac joint assessment, Anterior Cruciate Ligament rehabilitation and general lower limb dysfunction.

Annette Castleford Grad Dip Phys,MCSP, HCP

Senior in-patient physiotherapist

Annette is our Senior in-patient Physiotherapist and has extensive experience working on the wards looking after patients both pre and post-operatively. She has great links with social services to provide appropriate home care guidance and equipment for patients on discharge from hospital and provide an occupational therapy service for the pre-assessment of patients being admitted for joint replacements. Annette provides follow-up information to the outpatient physiotherapists and organises post-operative outpatient appointments.


Liz Gibson MCSP, HPC


Inpatient Physiotherapist

Liz qualified from Leicester University in July 2014 and works as one of our in-patient Physiotherapists. She has experience working on the wards looking after patients both pre and post-operatively and also has experience in using Maitland’s mobilisation, exercise therapy and has a qualification in sports massage. Liz provides follow-up information to the outpatient physiotherapists and organises post-operative outpatient appointments.

Julia Kennedy BSc(Hons) MCSP, HCP

Musculoskeletal physiotherapist
Qualifying in 2010 from the University of East Anglia with a First class Honours degree, Julia has a keen interest in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic rehabilitation, focusing on Maitland Mobilisations, exercise therapy, soft tissue and manual therapy. She has a keen interest in research and spent over a year working in a musculoskeletal and orthopaedic research team and has wide experience working in multiple rehabilitation settings including Norwich City Football Academy.


Margie Critchley B.Phys, MCSP, HPC

Women's Health Specialist
Part time Senior Physiotherapist

Womens  Health Physiotherapist specialising in the treatment  of conditions with pelvic floor muscle dysfunction including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic pain. Training and strengthening of the pelvic floor muscles is a core part of the treatment, is highly clinically effective and recommended in the NICE Guidelines. Margie graduated from Queensland University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 1980 and has 20 years' experience in women's health physiotherapy both in the NHS and privately. Margie is currently involved in a one year pilot study with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy for ‘ self referral ‘ for women with bladder or pelvic floor problems .

Gill Watkin Grad Dip Phys, MCSP, HPC

Respiratory Specialist 
Part time senior Respiratory physiotherapist 
Gill is a Respiratory Specialist Physiotherapist with over 25 years' experience working with all types of medical respiratory conditions. She has extensive experience treating dysfunctional breathing/hyperventilation and chronic cough problems. She is a committee member for the group Physiotherapy for Hyperventilation and took part in an Asthma and Dysfunctional breathing research trial in 2008. More recently she has gained experience helping athletes with reduced exercise performance to rebalance  breathing patterns and avoid disproportionate breathlessness.

Jo Marlow

Physiotherapist Assistant
Jo joined the Physio team as a Physiotherapy Assistant in 2013 and provides all the administrative support for the department. Jo also assists the department in the delivery of clinical care.

Rapid access to our on site diagnostic services

Our physiotherapists are also able to refer patients for x-ray, ultrasound and other scans to aid diagnosis. This means that in addition to aiding your treatment, your diagnostic test will already have been completed, which will enable a much more streamlined service once you see the consultant.
