Spire Leicester Hospital offers private children’s services for babies, children and young people, providing specialist advice, diagnosis and treatment from our team of Paediatric Consultants, supported by our dedicated team of highly experienced specialist Children’s nurses.
What can be more important than ensuring you receive prompt and professionally led medical care for your child?
If your child is missing school from recurrent health problems or it is taking too long to receive the treatment your child needs, you can now see a consultant privately and promptly.
We offer outpatient consultations for babies and children of any age and surgical treatment to children aged three and over; all available in the comfortable, clean surroundings of our private hospital.
The team see and treat a wide range of children’s conditions across a range of specialities including general paediatrics, ENT, orthopaedic surgery, dermatology, ophthalmology, dental, plastic surgery for the removal of birth marks and skin lesions, neurodevelopment, psychology and behavioural issues.
During an initial consultation with a paediatric specialist at Spire Leicester Hospital, you and your child will talk through your child’s symptoms with the doctor and any necessary investigations and treatment plans will also be discussed.
X-ray, ultrasound, MRI, CT scanning and blood testing are available on-site if required.
At Spire Leicester Hospital we are able to offer appointments outside school hours and we will, wherever possible, arrange for treatment to be carried out during school holidays to avoid conflicting with your child’s educational needs and wherever we can, we aim to take children as day cases.
Our Children’s nurses understand both the importance to parents and children of being ‘listened to’ and the difference that delivering the appropriate clinical care to children in an environment which is tailored for children can make. We fully appreciate that bringing your child into hospital can be an anxious time for the whole family which is why we offer parents and carers the opportunity for children to visit the hospital in advance of their operation to familiarise them with the hospital environment and meet the nurses who will be looking after them.
Each of the hospital’s private rooms has en-suite facilities and a TV and is specially prepared for a child’s admission to make the room feel as homely as possible. Beds are made up with colourful bedding and quilt covers, and a range of age appropriate toys are made available for children to occupy themselves with whilst in hospital. We also give all parents the option to stay in the same room as their child after a procedure.
Our Paediatric services are available to patients with private medical insurance and also to those who wish to self-pay. For self-pay patients, inclusive care packages are available which gives parents the peace of mind that their child’s care is paid for before they come into hospital for their procedure.
