Mr Mayahi is a specialist knee surgeon and his training over the last 15 years has been an on-going journey involving periods in London, Cambridge, Oxford and Sydney under the supervision of some outstanding mentors in whose debt he will always remain.
Mr Mayahi undertook his medical training at University College London and higher surgical training in orthopaedic surgery on the Cambridge rotation. In 2010 he undertook specialist fellowship training in knee surgery at the internationally renowned North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre under the tutelage of Dr Merv Cross and Dr Leo Pinczewski. On his return from Australia Mr Mayahi spent a further two years training in trauma, hip and knee surgery in Oxford, with a further six months spent with Mr Tim Spalding covering all aspects of knee surgery.
His specialist interests are sports injuries, arthroscopic surgery, ligament reconstruction, meniscal preservation (repair), cartilage regeneration surgery, osteotomy (re-alignment), patellofemoral surgery as well as partial and total knee replacement.
Mr Mayahi is on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council and undergos annual appraisal and regular revalidation.
