On Thursday 2nd August 2012 Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital held a charity golf competition in aid of the 'On Course Foundation'.
The On Course Foundation provides a new opportunity for members of our Armed Forces who have been seriously injured to participate on a level playing field with everyone else and to afford them a future within the golf world by providing employment opportunities.
The day was a great success with local businesses and Spire consultants entering teams of four. By the end of the day £3,000 was raised for the charity.
Denise Hutchinson, Business Development Manager and competition organiser said, "My special thanks go to a lot of people for making the day happen. A big thank you to Mr Trevor Thomas of Ganton Golf Club and the committee for being so accommodating and supportive. Thank you to the secretary of Ganton Golf Club, Caddy Master, Catering and Bar staff for their support. To Mr Gary Brown PGA Professional for donating the prizes today and to Mr Gary Hutchinson, Primepak Foods and Andy Hire for sponsorship and prize donations. Grateful thanks also to Mr Ken Idle from Leeds Golf Carts for donating golf buggies for the On Course team to use. Thanks to Judy Adcock and Claire Whittle for the fantastic half way house"
