Spire Hartswood Hospital's Physiotherapy Manager, Louise Larner, will be climbing to Base Camp of Mount Everest in 2013 to raise money for local charity Saint Francis Hospice.
Louise will hike for 19 days to reach the camp which is situated approximately 5.5km above sea level.
Louise says: "I've decided to undertake this challenge in order to raise money for St. Francis Hospice where they do amazing work every day caring for and supporting people and their families affected by life limiting illnesses.
St. Francis has played an invaluable role in looking after people very close to my heart and I'm sure anyone who has come into contact with the work they do, or indeed any other hospice, will know how vital the continuation of hospice care is - and it all relies on donations.
When I reach Base Camp I'll be exactly 5,460m high and I hope I can say that, for every metre I've climbed, St. Francis have received a pound. This is where you come in!
Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated; to see what kind of services this will support please visit the hospice website at: www.sfh.org.uk
By donating through JustGiving your details are safe and secure; they won't be sold on and you won't receive unwanted email. They will send your money direct to the charity and will make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
It’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. I am funding the cost of the trip myself so literally every penny donated will go straight to St Francis.
Thank you for your support."
