Spire Hartswood hospital in Eagle Way, Brentwood has been honoured in a prestigious, nationwide customer service competition, and is going up against some long-established, global corporations in the final on March 6th.
The Hospital has been shortlisted for the Best Customer Satisfaction Strategy Award at the Institute of Customer Service UK Customer Satisfaction Awards 2012.
Other finalists include Boots and Barclays Wealth, making this a real David and Goliath-style contest.
The hospital employs around 250 people and 92% of patients in 2011 rated the hospital as "Excellent" or "Very Good".
Hospital Director Mark Gilmour explains, “We’ve worked very hard in recent years, through our ‘Be Patient’ training programme and constant monitoring of patient satisfaction levels, to ensure that everyone who comes through our doors receives the very best care and attention from our staff. I’m delighted that we’ve been recognised in this way – and the fact that we are up against such prestigious competition, from totally different sectors, highlights how well the whole team has done.”
Mr Anthony Lindfield from Rainham had knee replacement surgery at Spire Hartswood Hospital. He says, “While I was there, I was treated with dignity, respect and with first-class care by all of the staff. I cannot fault Hartswood and would recommend anyone to go there for treatment. Your health is worth investing in.”
A panel of Institute of Customer Service members and industry experts will judge the finalists. Winners will be presented with their awards at a banquet at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, on 6 March 2012, after the Institute's Annual Conference. Staff at the hospital have their fingers crossed they will take home the award!
