This free educational event is open to GPs, GP registrars, locums and nurse practitioners/practice nurses and can count towards continuing professional development (CPD).
Our four consultants Mr David Johnston, Mr Farrukh Khan along with specialist bariatric dietitian Mrs Alina Yasin, Mr Dip Mukherjee and Mr Mrinal Saharay will run small group workshops presenting the different approaches for dealing with patients who need care. Delegates will have the opportunity to present cases for discussion and the consultants will give their opinion regarding treatment.
Topics discussed will be:
- “Benign bowel disorders" - referral guidelines, investigations and management of patients with acute and chronic bowel problems.
- “Surgery as an aid to weight loss for the morbidly obese patient” - the importance of patient selection and ongoing support.
- “Fire in the Belly” - top tips on how to handle a patient with heartburn and indigestion.
- “Solutions for haemorrhoids” - an outline of the range of treatments available - from injection/banding to ‘minimal pain’ surgery for advanced cases
