Dr Dipak Mukherjee is a consultant physician at Spire Hartswood private hospital in Brentwood, and Spire Wellesley private hospital, Southend on Sea, Essex, offering private general medical care in our clean and comfortable private hospitals.
Dr Dipak Mukherjee has been working at Basildon University Hospital as a consultant chest physician since 2001. Before this he trained in Manchester, including the Heart Lung Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital.
In his NHS work, Dr Mukherjee is clinical lead for COPD, tuberculosis, pleural disease, oxygen and EBUS (endobronchial ultrasound) at the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre in Basildon. Dipak Mukherjee has also an interest in bronchoscopy, medical thoracoscopy and lung cancer and works closely with the cardiothoracic surgeons at the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre.
Dr Mukherjee won the national Hospital Doctor award for COPD in 2005 and has won a chief executive’s gold award in his NHS hospital for excellent clinical commitment.
Dr Mukherjee sees patients with a wide range of problems involving the respiratory system - ranging from chest infections, tumours, asthma and COPD and interstitial lung disease.
