When are the clinics available?
Our Breast Care Clinics are available Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturday mornings, meaning we can find a clinic that fits around you. For more information on our specialist consultants please click on the names to the right hand side of this page.
How long does it all take?
Each situation is different depending on the symptoms you are presenting, as a guide a standard mammogram involving an examination of both breasts takes 15 minutes. An ultrasound scan can take up to 30 minutes and ultrasound biopsies can take up to a further 30 minutes.

Do I have to be within a certain age range?
We carry our mammograms from age 35 years upwards, however there are exceptional circumstances where they could be performed at an earlier age. If you have a family history of breast cancer or you have found a lump please contact us urgently for further details.
Will the mammogram hurt?
Mammograms can be uncomfortable but not unbearable. If you are concerned about this please talk to us prior to your mammogram.
What happens if I need further treatment?
Don’t panic, Spire Harpenden are with you every step of the way. Your consultant will be able to explain the next steps depending on your results. Surgery and support are available here as well.
