Dear doc, I am enquiring about my 3½ year old grandson. He is getting frequent spells of tonsillitis plus breathing and sleep disturbance. I am very worried about him; I have made an appointment to see my GP, but just wanted to know if and how this can be treated? Thanks. Margaret, Crawley.
Thank you for contacting Spire Gatwick Park Hospital with regards to child tonsillectomy, adenotonsillectomy and insertion of grommets. Spire Gatwick Park Hospital is part of Spire Healthcare, the UK's second largest private hospital group. Please be advised that we only operate on children here over the age of three years old.
We can certainly help here at Spire Gatwick Park Hospital by offering your grandson an initial consultation with one of our ENT consultants. During this appointment the consultant will discuss the symptoms the patient is experiencing and previous diagnoses, in order to make their recommendation for treatment. It also is an opportunity to ask any questions.
We have two experienced children ENT specialists available here, and you can choose who you would like your grandson to see:
• Mr Kemal Bevan
• Mr Sameer Khemani
The fee for an initial consultation ranges from £155 - £170 and will require a GP referral letter. We can usually book an appointment within 2 weeks. We do recommend that to this appointment you bring along details of any previous tests / treatment that may have already been carried out, relating to your grandsons current symptoms.
Following your grandson’s consultation and when the treatment he requires has been discussed, we would then be able to provide you with a fixed price.
