Mr Venkateswaran (Venkat) has an interest in shoulder and elbow surgery and is based at Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust, which includes Dewsbury and District Hospital. He completed his training in orthopaedics in Yorkshire and has also completed the acclaimed clinical fellowship in shoulder surgery at Reading Shoulder Unit. His special interest is in arthroscopic shoulder surgery and has presented research papers on the same. He offers a one-stop clinic for the patient where ultrasound is part of the diagnostic work up if it is required. He has many publications and presentations to his credit. Other research interests include rotator cuff disease and shoulder instability. He is also part of the faculty of the AO trauma courses and is a member of the British Elbow and Shoulder Association. Mr Venkat consults from Spire Elland Hospital, Spire Leeds Hospital and Spire Longlands Consulting Rooms in Dewsbury.
Extracoporeal shock wave therapy (eSWT) is now available at Spire Elland Hospital under the care of Mr Venkat for treament of shoulder and elbow tendon associated pain and is approved by NICE and the major insurance companies.
