Mr Venkat is interested in shoulder surgery, rotator cuff disease, shoulder pain and instability. He has co-authored chapters in books on shoulder surgery. He has written numerous publications and presentations on upper limb and general trauma and runs courses for orthopaedic trainees.

Mr Venkat started training in orthopaedics at Madras University in 1993 completing a Masters degree in Orthopaedics in 1996. He did further basic orthopaedic training in Yorkshire for 2 years completing his FRCS in 1998. As a Higher Surgical trainee in Yorkshire from 1998 to 2004 he completed his FRCS in Orthopaedics in 2002 and completed an acclaimed one year fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the Reading Shoulder Unit in 2004.Mr Venkat is a Consultant at Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust and Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Leeds. Mr Venkat provides treatments for complex shoulder problems, impingement, rotator cuff tears, arthritis, cuff tear arthropathy, acromioclavicular joint injuries, shoulder dislocations, frozen shoulders, joint replacement of the shoulder and elbow.
He is also interested in sports injuries of the shoulder, elbow and the knee.He provides a one-stop clinic for the patients and uses ultrasound as part of the diagnostic work up.Mr Venkat routinely performs arthroscopic knee surgery and anterior cruciate ligament reconstructions through the keyhole method.His services are complemented by the excellent state of the art radiology at Spire Leeds and Spire Elland Hospitals and rehabilitation and physiotherapy support both at Elland and Leeds aswell as Longlands Consulting Rooms.Mr Venkat consults at Spire Elland and Spire Leeds Hospitals and at Longlands Consulting Rooms, Dewsbury.
