Mr Swanton's undergraduate training was at UCL and his postgraduate training was predominantly in London, Oxford and Reading. He has a doctorate (MD) which specialised in women with polycystic ovaries undergoing IVF treatment. He has won several awards for research including the ‘Prize Paper Award’ at the British Fertility Society 2009 and the ‘In-Training Award for Research’ at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine 2008.
Mr Swanton has a special interest in fertility and minimal access surgery and can perform laparoscopic salpingectomies, ovarian cystectomies/oophorectomies, myomectomies (fibroid surgery), hysterectomies along with moderate-advanced endometriosis surgery. He also runs the satellite IVF service in Reading which is linked with the Oxford Fertility Unit. He also performs gynaecological ultrasound scanning.
