Ann is currently the Physiotherapy Manager at Spire Clare Park Hospital. In addition to managing the department, she holds both a clinical inpatient and outpatient role.
Ann qualified from the Owestry School of Physiotherapy, a world renowned orthopaedic hospital in 1985. Prior to moving to Spire Clare Park, Ann managed the physiotherapy department at the Lord Mayor Treloar Orthopaedic Hospital in Alton.
She specialised in outpatients and subsequently attended a large variety of courses to consolidate and build her knowledge in this field, including those run by the MACP. She is skilled in the manipulation of thoracic and lumbar spines and has practised acupuncture for the past 18 years and use it as an adjunct to her manual skills.
Ann is a qualified Pilates instructor and she teaches regular classes at Spire Clare Park Hospital and she incorporates the core-stability work in to one-to-one treatments.
Her particular interest is in knees and she works closely with Mr Hugh Chissell Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, as a Physiotherapy Orthopaedic Practitioner. In this role, Ann reviews post operative arthroscopies, ACL Reconstructions, as well as post operative Total Knee and Total Hip Replacements. Upon review of the patients x-rays, Ann is able to give physiotherapy and post-surgical advice tailored to the patients needs. These clinics were set up with the aim of offering the success of the NHS ESP service to private patients and they have been very well received by patients.
