Mr L has kindly agreed to share his experience of recently having a calcium score and CT angiogram at Spire Cheshire Hospital under the care of Dr Sukumaran Binukrishnan.
Mr L said: “I attended Spire Cheshire Hospital after having a treadmill test which was carried out because I was getting non-specific chest pains.
"I would recommend the diagnostic procedures provided at Spire Cheshire Hospital for anyone who has concerns about coronary artery disease"
"These chest pains had been going on for some time and I was getting concerned that there may be a serious underling cause. The stress test proved to be negative; however, due to a family history of cardiac disease, my cardiologist recommended a CT angiogram and calcium score which would be more specific in identifying coronary artery disease.
"My cardiologist referred me to Dr Sukumaran Binukrishnan, consultant cardiac radiologist at Spire Cheshire Hospital, to have a calcium score and CT angiogram.
"I had a lot of questions about the procedure and was quite nervous about receiving treatment. Before undergoing the procedure, Dr Binukrishnan addressed these concerns in a very professional and caring manner. He put me completely at ease for the procedure and I always felt I was in good hands.
"The results showed a 80% blockage in my LAD coronary artery, so I was referred to the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital where I received an invasive angiogram and subsequent angioplasty.
"I feel very well now and would recommend the diagnostic procedures provided at Spire Cheshire Hospital for anyone who has concerns about coronary artery disease.
"All the staff at Spire Cheshire Hospital were professional, courteous and very caring and I cannot praise them and especially Dr Binukrishnan enough."
