Mr Roy works as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in Trafford Hospital, Manchester. He completed his orthopaedic training from the Yorkshire region. He had specialist experience in the techniques of shoulder and elbow surgery during a 12 month fellowship at the Nottingham Shoulder Unit in 2004. During his higher surgical training, he completed a masters in bioengineering with Leeds University. He also holds a diploma in medical informatics.Mr Roy manages traumatic as well as elective orthopaedic problems with a special emphasis on shoulder and elbow problems. 80 percent of his elective work is arthroscopic surgery both in shoulders and elbows.

PRP is currently being used as an alternative treatment method for orthopaedic conditions which have traditionally required surgery or other extensive treatments. Mr Roy is currently performing this procedure for upper limb conditions at Spire Cheshire Hospital.

Shoulder pain from inflammatory arthritis and/or degenerative disease is very common, suprascapular nerve block has shown promise in limited clinical trials in reducing shoulder pain where other treatment has not been effective.
