    Dr Yell gained MBChB in 1985 at the University of Cape Town, with distinctions in the final professional examinations and degree awarded with honours. She trained in dermatology as registrar and senior registrar at the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals in Oxford. 1994-1995-ARC Immunodermatology, Fellow University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, USA.MD on localisation ro antigen in keratinocytes. Appointed Consultant Dermatologist in 1995.
