Background Information
Professional profile:

Mr Jones is a welsh speaker graduating from Cardiff in 1993. He stayed in Wales to do his basic and orthopaedic training. He spent a year in Quenn's Medical Centre, Nottingham, where he completed a nationally recognised spinal fellowship, treating both adult and paediatric spinal conditions.

He has now been a Consultant Spinal Surgeon in Cardiff for the last 8 years, where he treats all spinal conditions including adult and paediatric deformity (scoliosis), neck and arm pain, back pain and sciatica. He also treats spinal fractures with or without spinal cord injury, spinal infections, as well as patients with rheumatoid arthritis. He has an interest in sports medicine and treats local players from Cardiff Blues, Glamorgan Cricket Club and also Cardiff City.
He performs several minimally invasive procedures and has an active role in clinical and biomechanical research. He teaches and presents at local and national meetings.

He performs over 300 major cases and between 400-500 injections per year.

Personal profile:

I am a devoted family man with two young daughters who keep me on my toes outside work. I played a lot of sport in college and was a member of Cardiff Medicals RFC. I still try to maintain contacts with that Association. Although I don't play rugby any more, due to age catching up with me, I support our nation's winning team. I like to keep fit and I still go to the gym, although the kids tend to keep me active enough.
