Professional profile:Mr Davies qualified at Guy's Hospital in 1990 and then trained in general and colorectal surgery in Cardiff, London and Oxford. After completing his training in Oxford, he spent a year as a clinical fellow in colorectal surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, USA.
He was appointed as a colorectal and general surgeon in Cardiff in September 2005. Mr Davies currently manage patients at UHW and Llandough Hospital. He is involved in the management of the full spectrum of malignant and benign colorectal conditions including inflammatory bowel disease, rectal prolapse and anorectal problems. Mr Davies has an active role in diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy. Mr Davies also undertakes elective general surgical procedures including hernia repair and manage general surgical emergencies.
