Bijay Baburajan is an experienced Gastroenterologist at King’s College Hospital and Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. Over the years, he has developed a highly regarded referral practice and receives patients from throughout Kent and Medway. He manages all gastrointestinal diseases and provides comfortable and safe endoscopic procedures.
After specialty training at centers such as Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London and Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, Bijay went on to The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, USA. Advances in genetics, pharmacology and endoscopy translate into a modern and patient centered approach to medical care.
His original research into molecular biology and genetics was awarded a PhD at King’s College London and the findings were subsequently patented. This work has been recognized by awards from the American Gastroenterology Association, the British Society of Gastroenterology and the British Association of study of the Liver.
Now, Dr. Baburajan is also the Chair of the training programme for future consultant Gastroenterologists in Kent, Sussex and Surrey. An author of medical textbooks and professional journal articles, he has lectured at national and international conferences.
