Mr Barbaccia specialised in Otorhinolaryngology from Palermo University in 1994.

Following his training in Palmero he furthered his career in Milan with a fellowship in Head and Neck cancer from 1995 to 1998 at National Cancer Institute of Milan and as Consultant Head and Neck in the same institute from 1999 to 2004.

He was appointed Consultant Otolaryngologist Head and Neck Surgeon at Medway Maritime Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in June 2004.

He is designated thyroid surgeon and head and neck surgeon for West Kent.

From April 2007 to date he is currently working at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, leading the otolaryngology head and neck cancer group, to build an head and neck team in collaboration with his maxillo facial colleagues.
