Dr Agarwal graduated in 1993 and completed his internship in 1994. He has been working in the UK after passing the rigorous PLAB examination in 1996. He did his basic surgical training in Cumbria and passed membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in 1999.
He then joined radiology training scheme in Sheffield where he also undertook one year of specialised training in vascular intervention in the Sheffield Vascular Institute, which is considered one of the best in the country. He passed his fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists in 2005 and has been working as consultant radiologist at the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board since the year 2007.
Dr Agarwal is part of strong team of diagnostic radiologists at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital and carries out range of diagnostic imaging in Ultrasound, CT and MRI in addition to interventional procedures.
He has established various new services at Wrexham Maelor Hospital that includes uterine fibroid embolization, Endovascular Aortic Aneurysm Repair, radiofrequency ablation of renal tumours etc. He is one of the very few consultant radiologists in the country who has formal outpatient clinics and strongly believes in interventional radiology consultation to provide fully informed high quality patient care.
Dr Agarwal actively participates in local audits and research and is a regular attendee in national and international conferences. He is career lead for radiology in Wales, RCR college tutor and actively participates in training of junior doctors.
